Today I am grateful for this website, lzon.ca. I started building it about a week ago, and so far I am quite satisfied with it, at a technical level.
I’m using the Zola static site generator. I started from scratch, without a template. I wanted to improve my web development skill, and I wanted a challenge. There was a moment on day one in which I literally had an empty index.html file loaded in my text editor.
The name is a contraction of the word “Lauzon”, pronounced “loh-zawn”. It’s the name of a lake near Blind River, Ontario. My Mom was born there and otherwise it is a very nice little town, in a part of the province that I love. The domain was also surprising inexpensive.
I think the design of the site is nice so far, and I’ve already learned a few new things related to web development and design:
I don’t know now how frequently I will publish content to this site. At the very least it can be a place to publish my rambles, when I feel compelled. Either way, I am satisfied with what this is right now.
