WWDC 2026 Wish List: Health for Mac, Wallet everywhere, a...
Zac Hall · 2026-05-29 · via 9to5Mac

WWDC 2026 is 10 days away. Here’s a grab-bag selection of things I hope to see from Apple’s new OS 27 updates that aren’t really rumored.

Health app on the Mac

Apple brought the Health app to the iPad two years ago. It’s great having access to all the data on the big screen.

Next, I really want to see Apple Health come to the Mac.

iPhone Mirroring on iPad

The Mac introduced iPhone Mirroring last year, and it’s surprisingly useful for accessing and controlling iPhone apps that aren’t on the Mac (like Health).

iPhone Mirroring is something I miss when using the iPad.

iPad Mirroring on Mac

Sure, it may not be for everyone, but it’s the logical conclusion of Apple’s big Continuity play. Every Apple device deserves a portal into other Apple devices.

Upgraded Journal app on the Mac

The Journal app originated on the iPhone before coming to iPadOS and macOS last year.

The Mac version lacks a lot of the content suggestions that the iPhone and iPad versions include. I hope that changes this year.

I also want to see Journal sync perform as instantly as Apple Notes. Journal on the Mac is one of my most-used apps.

Liquid Glass appearance toggle on Apple Watch

I know Liquid Glass on the Mac has a bad reputation for not being as baked as the iPhone design.

For me, there’s something about clear Liquid Glass elements on the Apple Watch that makes me feel a little uneasy still.

This is especially true of notifications. I don’t use the tinted Liquid Glass setting on the iPhone, iPad, or Mac, but I’d choose it on the Apple Watch if given the option.

Expanded window limit on iPad

Apple greatly expanded the iPad windowing system in iPadOS 26 by actually embracing the idea of floating windows.

It’s so close to just working, but the window system still has training wheels.

I think the limit is 12 app windows at a time. That sounds like a lot, but I find it easy to have more than 12 windows, most of them lightweight, in an “open” state on my Mac.

When using the iPad in “laptop” mode, I suddenly have the overhead of watching windows drop off again. Close, but not quite there yet.

Wallet app everywhere

Apple’s Wallet app is great on the iPhone. I hope we see it graduate from Settings to a proper app on the iPad and Mac next.

Apple’s Passwords experience showed how moving from Settings to a dedicated app can work on iPadOS and macOS. Wallet could do the same.

What do you hope to see at WWDC 2026? The keynote kicks off in two weeks on June 8. Apple will unveil iOS 27, macOS 27, and more.
