Fantastical just solved the classic double-booking calend...
Zac Hall · 2026-06-22 · via 9to5Mac

Fantastical from Flexibits is so much more than natural language event creation for your calendar. The app has been solving everyday calendar problems with common-sense solutions for 15 years now.

The latest version of Fantastical is no exception. It tackles the age-old problem of accidentally double-booking yourself for events. One calendar shows you’re free while the other has something scheduled.

Fantastical’s fix is fitting for the app because it gives you granular control. Here’s how it works.

Fantastical’s new calendar mirroring feature lets you avoid meeting conflicts

The new calendar mirroring feature in Fantastical is all about avoiding meeting conflicts.

The solution is to find a way for your various calendars to know about each other. The challenge is that this needs to happen with privacy and user control in mind.

Fantastical’s new calendar mirroring feature is designed with all of this in mind. Flexibits has a new video from David Sparks that explains everything in a way that’s easy to understand. Check it out:

So that’s calendar mirroring in Fantastical. The new feature arrives in today’s Fantastical update. These are the release notes for the rest of the app update:

  • Avoid meeting conflicts! Fantastical will automatically copy events from one calendar to another based on rules you define. Set up mirroring rules in Fantastical’s settings
  • Meet With! Quickly check the schedules of other people in your organization, making it easier to decide when to meet with others
  • Improved error messaging when importing an invalid ICS file
  • Fixed an issue where Zoom meetings created with a UTC timezone could show up at the wrong time
  • Fixed an issue where Microsoft 365 room search was case-sensitive
  • Fixed an issue where opening a location from Fantastical would not use the right address in rare cases
  • Fixed an issue where all day event titles would get clipped in the event list when using larger text sizes
  • Fixed an issue preventing some emojis from being used for tagging events
  • Fixed an issue where opening a subscription event would throw an incorrect error
  • Fixed choppy pinch-and-zoom when changing the number of hours visible in Day and Week view
  • Various fixes and improvements
