Apple has sold through its MacBook Neo inventory for April. The earliest deliveries for new MacBook Neo orders from Apple now quote delivery dates in May.
MacBook Neo’s launch has resembled a flagship iPhone launch more than a typical Mac release. After more than a month since its release, customers continue to purchase the $599 laptop faster than Apple can produce them.
Apple unveiled MacBook Neo on March 4, opening pre-orders shortly after the announcement. MacBook Neo arrived in stores one week later on March 11.
Launch inventory quickly sold out, and Apple hasn’t caught up with demand since.
MacBook Neo comes in four colors (silver, blush, citrus, and indigo) and two configurations (256GB or 512GB with Touch ID).
Each option shows delivery times between May 1 and May 8 when ordered today.
Shoppers may have a different experience at Apple retail store locations.
While ship dates have continued to slip all month, some configurations have appeared for in-store pickup at times.
Meanwhile, Amazon has MacBook Neo stock promised as soon as April 21 with a 30-day low price of $589.99.
The upgraded storage model with Touch ID is also $10 cheaper than Apple’s price with some models promised as soon as April 22.
Walmart also has MacBook Neo inventory with silver available for overnight shipping and indigo just two days out.

Following MacBook Neo’s launch, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the Mac “had its best launch week ever for first-time Mac customers.”
With new Mac customers continuing to buy up MacBook Neos faster than Apple can make them, Apple’s most affordable laptop is an absolute hit.
