visionOS 27 brings a variety of new features to Apple Vision Pro, with Siri AI being the single biggest upgrade. But there are two visionOS 27 features that owners of the original Vision Pro model will miss out on.

When visionOS 27 ships this fall, it will be available on all Apple Vision Pro models.
The vast majority of new features are supported on the original M2 Vision Pro as well as last fall’s M5 update.
That means all Vision Pro users will get the new Siri AI, ability to turn panoramas into a spatial scene for a personal Environment, redesigned Control Center, and more.
Siri AI is a huge upgrade over the old Siri, and truly shines on a platform where voice-first computing makes a lot of sense.
But there’s one Siri feature that’s exclusive to M5 Vision Pro models: voice customization.
Siri AI offers a rich voice customization feature that lets you customize the expressivity and pace of Siri’s voice to your liking.
However, this feature depends on Apple’s most advanced new on-device AI model, AFM 3 Core Advanced, which is detailed here.
And unfortunately, the M2 Vision Pro cannot run this on-device model.
So in addition to missing out on Siri voice customization, original Vision Pro owners will also likely experience slower Apple Intelligence performance because the device will be more dependent on Private Cloud Compute.
It’s unfortunate for hardware that’s only two years old. But Vision Pro certainly isn’t alone, as even last year’s base model iPhone 17 misses out on these same features.
