Mark Gurman writes at Bloomberg:
This year’s visionOS 27 update will be light on new features compared with visionOS 26 and instead focus on performance, bug fixes and parity with the other “27” operating systems. That means adding the new AI editing tools, Siri features and other enhancements that will be part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27.
So to summarize, Vision Pro owners can expect the following in visionOS 27:
Apple has been developing visionOS at a fairly impressive pace until now. And it sounds like that may slow down some this year.
However, I would argue that the new Siri could have an especially big impact on the overall Vision Pro experience.
Shortly after I got my Vision Pro, I discovered how important voice is as an input method.
Unlike my iPhone, iPad, and Mac, where I prefer to get things done via touch, or a keyboard and trackpad, in visionOS I try to use voice a lot. And the current Siri makes that a challenge.
If Apple is able to deliver the Siri we’ve all been hoping for, I could see visionOS benefiting significantly from that. And I’d expect that with Mike Rockwell now leading Siri’s overhaul, his previous major focus—the Vision Pro—won’t be neglected.
