When I first picked up the ESR Geo Wallet Boost last year, I had a thought: I was either living in the future or an absolute moron for plugging my wallet into a wall charger. Obviously, charging your wallet sounds like a massive hassle on paper, but after using it off and on, I can confidently say the functionality you get is completely worth the minor inconvenience of charging, as it feels more like charging a Kindle here and there vs something you really worry/think about.

The main reason to own a wallet that requires charging is the native Find My integration. I lose my wallet somewhere in my house at least once a week. AirTags were practically invented for people like me, but they add a lot of bulk to a slim profile. This wallet connects directly to the Find My network without needing extra accessories or pouches. If you leave it behind, you get an alert. If it falls between the couch cushions, you can ping it with a loud sound.
A 90-minute charge gives you about 3 months of battery life. I would much rather plug in my wallet four times a year than spend twenty minutes tearing apart my house before leaving for work. It uses a proprietary connector that plugs into a standard USB-C port, which makes charging it pretty simple. It’s similar to a Kindle, where you really don’t think about charging it at all.
The biggest complaint with most MagSafe wallets is the lack of storage. Most max out at three cards and leave absolutely no room for cash. The ESR Geo Wallet Boost holds up to five cards or four cards plus a little cash. It uses a dual-slot setup with a handy thumb cutout on the bottom, so you never have to fight to slide your driver’s license out. I generally keep my ID and my daily credit card, and I put my backup credit cards in the other slot. If you still carry a physical driver’s license, a few cards, and some cash, this wallet handles it with ease. In fact, I just returned from a trip this weekend and this was somethign I kepting coming back to as a reason I love this wallet.
ESR built in 20 N52 magnets into the ESR Geo Wallet Boost, and they are incredibly strong. The magnetic hold beats almost everything I have tested. It locks onto the iPhone and stays put even when sliding it into tight pockets. The exterior is wrapped in vegan leather with a black carbon fiber finish, giving it a premium look without adding unnecessary bulk.
The only real downside is that it cannot function as a stand. Built-in stands are fantastic for FaceTime calls, watching movies on a flight, or just propping your phone up on your desk. If you rely on that feature every day, this wallet is not for you. There is no kickstand function at all.
The ESR Geo Wallet Boost focuses entirely on storage and tracking. You are trading the kickstand feature for native Find My support and a higher card capacity. Depending on how you use your phone, that is probably a worthwhile swap.
The ESR Geo Wallet Boost solves two major problems. It has built-in Find My tracking without needing an AirTag, and it holds more than three cards, which is enough to make it a legitimate EDC. I always wish it worked as a stand, but I will gladly take the Find My support and expanded storage instead.
