FX has finally revealed when audiences can expect the final season of The Bear.

The fifth and final season will debut June 25 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu, as well as internationally on Disney+, per the studio. All eight episodes will be available to stream at debut.

The latest news comes one day after FX dropped a surprise prequel episode of The Bear on Hulu on Monday. Titled “Gary,” the episode is a flashback following cousins Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Mikey (Jon Bernthal) on a work trip to Gary, Indiana. The stars of the episode also co-wrote it, and series creator Christopher Storer directed.

Per the official description, the episode follows “the two friends’ complicated relationship, uncovering new layers of Mikey’s mental state while offering crucial insight into the man Richie is when audiences first meet him in season one — adding emotional context that reframes their story from the very beginning.”

In addition to its streaming debut, Season 5 will roll out on FX’s linear channel. The FX premiere will include the first two episodes followed by one new episode airing weekly.

The final season is sure to bring its fair share of drama as it picks up quite quickly after the events of Season 4. According to FX, Season 5 “picks up the morning after Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie and Natalie “Sugar” (Abby Elliott) discover that Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant to them. With no money, the threat of a sale and a torrential storm in their way, the new partners must band together with the rest of the team to achieve one last service, hoping they’ll finally earn a Michelin star. Ultimately, they learn that what makes a restaurant ‘perfect’ might not be the food, but the people.”

The eries also stars Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter and Jamie Lee Curtis in recurring roles. 

The Bear is created by Christopher Storer, who serves as executive producer alongside Josh Senior, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matty Matheson, Hiro Murai and Rene Gube. Courtney Storer serves as a culinary producer. The series is produced by FX Productions.
