Jackie Tohn & Timothy Simons On 'Nobody Wants This' Filmi...
Armando Tinoco · 2026-06-18 · via News

Jackie Tohn and Timothy Simons are returning for Season 3 of Nobody Wants This and revealed why it’s so important that productions continue filming in Los Angeles.

“This is an industry town, so many people have moved here, live here — their livelihoods are here,” Tohn told Deadline at the 2026 Las Culturistas Culture Awards.

Tohn noted that there are thousands of “crew who live here and want to work here and not have to leave and go to Vancouver for five months out of the year and not be able to see their family members and their spouses.”

“Shooting in LA is so important because it sounds so trite — this is Hollywood that we are in,” she continued. “There’s a million studios here, the infrastructure already exists, but it’s so expensive to shoot here that it’s really hard. I think as actors, we’re all just angling and hoping that there could be some tax breaks for these productions because more stuff has to happen here.”

Los Angeles has provided a romantic backdrop for the Nobody Wants This characters, and viewers will see it again in Season 3. Production for the Netflix series began in March, with ten episodes being ordered by the streamer.

Tohn’s co-star, Timothy Simons, echoed her comments on the significance of keeping productions in LA.

“The best crews are in Los Angeles,” Simons told Deadline. “[The crew] want to be close to their families, they don’t want to have to get on a plane and go to a different country.

Although Simons said “it’s fun sometimes” and travel somewhere else to film a show, on a day-to-day basis, “we all want to be around our families and not have to uproot our lives.”

“It’s easy to make Los Angeles look like Los Angeles. You don’t have to do a lot of [set decoration] if you shoot here,” Simons said. “If you keep the money here, the money stays here. Did your favorite restaurant close down? I’m really sorry that happened, but if you were one of the people that decided to send money to a different city, the crews and the people here don’t have money to spend at a restaurant. So if you are the person that’s making the decision to send work elsewhere, but complaining about things that are happening in LA — it’s kind of on you.”
