


























UPDATE: Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, actor, author, and producer Ledisi will head to Broadway this fall in the new musical Wanted, joining the previously announced Solea Pfeiffer and Liisi LaFontaine.
Ledisi will star as Tallulah Clarke, mother of sisters Mary Clarke (Pfeiffer) and Martha Clark (LaFontaine). Wanted, formerly known as Gun & Powder, will begin previews at The James Earl Jones Theatre on October 15, 2026, with an opening night set for November 8, 2026.
Ledisi’s casting was announced last night at “Wanted Unplugged,” a one-night-only concert featuring songs from the musical hosted at Artist House in Manhattan’s Soho.
“My first Broadway principal role, and I still can’t believe it,” Ledisi said in a statement. “I keep thinking about the journey, God’s timing, and the importance of legacy…This isn’t a pivot… It’s another expansion of me.”
Ledisi has received multiple Grammy nominations including “Best New Artist” for her breakthrough album Lost & Found and won the Grammy Award for “Best Traditional R&B Performance” for her song “Anything For You.” In 2025, she earned two additional Grammy nominations for “Best R&B Album” for her sixteenth studio album The Crown and “Best Traditional R&B Performance” for the album’s standout single “Love You Too.” Film and television credits include Selma (2014) and Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story (2022), as well as appearances in American Soul and Pose. Broadway credits include Caroline, or Change (2004) and Hair (2004).
PREVIOUS, March 17: Wanted, the musical formerly known as Gun & Powder, is heading to Broadway this fall with Solea Pfeiffer and Liisi LaFontaine starring as the real-life Mary and Martha Clarke, respectively, Black twin sisters who passed as white in 1893 Texas. The production will begin previews at The James Earl Jones Theatre on October 15, with an opening night set for November 8.
Synopsis: Texas, 1893 — a time gone, but not forgotten. Twin sisters determined to save their family take fate into their own hands. Hiding who they are and taking what they’re owed, they straddle the line between two Americas.
Pfeiffer’s Broadway credits include Hadestown and Almost Famous, and LaFontaine appeared on the West End in Moulin Rouge! as well as Dreamgirls.

Wanted features book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri (a real-life descendant of the Sisters Clarke), music by Ross Baum, direction by Stevie Walker-Webb (Ain’t No Mo’), and choreography by Chelsey Arce.
Additional creative team and casting will be announced at a later date. Wanted is produced by P3 Productions (Ben Holtzman, Sammy Lopez, Fiona Rudin).
Wanted ran at Paper Mill Playhouse from April 4 – May 5, 2024. , and Wanted: The Studio EP is available in digital and streaming formats and features five songs performed by Pfeiffer, LaFontaine and the studio cast.
