Sundance Film Festival Appoints Bloomerang PR As Colorado...
Matthewgroba · 2026-05-15 · via News

EXCLUSIVE: Ahead of the landmark relocation of its Sundance Film Festival to Boulder, Sundance Institute has appointed Bloomerang PR as its Colorado Agency of Record, announcing new programming set for this summer.

Jenny Bloom‘s Denver-based Bloomerang will lead regional media strategy and support the festival’s integration into Colorado’s cultural landscape, working in collaboration with Sundance Institute and Sundance Film Festival teams.

Part of that integration effort begins next week, as Sundance kicks off collaborations with various community events and festivals in Boulder and Denver to offer Colorado audiences an opportunity to engage with its legacy of independent storytelling. Upcoming events include a special presentation of Andrea Gibson: Love Letter from the Afterlife, a 20th anniversary celebration of Little Miss Sunshine in partnership with Denver Film’s Film on the Rocks, as well as screenings of Napoleon Dynamite at the Boulder Creek Festival, The Best Summer at Outside Days, and BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions in collaboration with Biennial of the Americas, MATTER, and MCA Denver.

The Sundance Film Festival has set its first run in Boulder, following a 42-year run in Park City, Utah, for  January 21-31, 2027. View its lineup of Summer 2026 programming below.

“As we continue building the foundation for the Sundance Film Festival in Colorado, our ongoing events share the spirit and history of Sundance with local audiences,” said Eugene Hernandez, Director of the Sundance Film Festival and Head of Public Programming. “Celebrating films like Little Miss Sunshine, which first premiered at the Festival in 2006, reflects the kind of storytelling we’ve always championed. We’re excited to work with local partners and Colorado audiences to bring that experience to life in new ways.”

With nearly two decades of experience spanning film, television, festivals, markets, and experiential campaigns, Bloom will lead the Sundance account for Bloomerang PR alongside the agency’s Head of Growth and Partnerships, Courtney Bloom Malkin. Bloom’s longtime creative partner Katie Shapiro will serve as Head of Media Relations and Strategy.

Bloom’s background includes co-founding the Stanley Film Festival in Colorado and work across Film Independent’s Los Angeles Film Festival, Denver Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival, Whistler Film Festival, MountainFilm, SeriesFest, and others. While in the agency world, she has led communications and positioning for filmmakers, projects, production companies, live events, and cultural brands at pivotal moments of growth.

She told us this morning, “Serving as Agency of Record in Colorado for the Sundance Film Festival is a defining moment for Bloomerang PR. The Sundance Film Festival has been a throughline in my career since first attending in 2010, making the opportunity to help guide its Colorado era both a full-circle moment and an exciting responsibility. The energy around town is already palpable, and as we work to make it more accessible than ever, we are excited to help shape the Festival’s presence in a way that is inclusive, locally rooted, and built for lasting impact.”
