EXCLUSIVE: Film Bridge International has picked up sales rights on The Influencer Project, a new found footage horror film from Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale (The Blair Witch Project), starring UK influencer Chiara King. 

Details of the film’s plot haven’t been released, but we’re told the project was shot in Copenhagen and is based on true events surrounding King’s real-life stalker. King is a beauty and fashion influencer with over 1 million followers on Instagram. The Influencer Project will be her first film project. We understand producers are aiming to leverage King’s social popularity to launch a theatrical release. The producers have noted Markiplier’s rollout for Iron Lung as a blueprint. 

The Influencer Project is directed and produced by Mike Nybroe. It is a co-production between Hades Films and Point Neuf in Denmark. Additional producers include Sanchez, Hale, Alex Hertzberg, and Ahmet Zappa.

“Thirty years ago, fear was a supernatural force in the woods. Today, it’s with you constantly, in social media—the possibility of opening up your life to strangers who wish you harm. What could be more terrifying?” Sanchez and Hale said in a statement.
