EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate will be adding its library to digital movie locker, Movies Anywhere next month. The studio joins those studios already on the service, Sony, Universal, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery.

The Movies Anywhere app and website allows consumers to keep the digital movies they purchase in one personal cloud. In the initial launch phase, 225 of Lionsgate’s most high-profile films in including Hunger Games, John Wick, The Housemaid, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, La La Land, Rambo, Dirty Dancing, Passion of the Christ, Knives Out and Quentin Tarantino movies Django Unchained, the Kill Bill franchise and Reservoir Dogs and more will be available on the service, with approximately 100 additional films added monthly throughout 2026 and early 2027. We understand that Lionsgate’s biggest post Covid movie, the near $800M global grossing Michael will be available on Movies Anywhere once that feature becomes available in the home entertainment window, its release date to be announced. The Lionsgate library counts more than 20,000 film & television titles which mint $1 billion in trailing 12-month revenues.

“Lionsgate’s classic IP and coveted catalog of films has always been one of our studio’s strengths, and this initiative marks a pivotal step forward as we continue to drive strategic growth from our library,” said Adam Frank, EVP, Global Transactional Sales & Distribution, Lionsgate. “The incredible reach Movies Anywhere brings—alongside its secure, easy-to-use technology and go-anywhere functionality—make it a top choice for consumers. This alliance marks an important expansion of our efforts to deliver premium entertainment experiences to movie fans and collectors, offering a new way to engage with some of our most celebrated and enduring films.”
