Deadline on Monday launched the streaming site for its Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted, the annual awards-season panel event that puts the spotlight on the year’s best in small-screen nonfiction content.
The livestream event that took place Saturday featured nine panels from six separate networks and streamers, in addition to YouTube, spanning everything from docuseries to features.
This year’s panel lineup included conversations with the likes of Stanley Tucci, Octavia Spencer, MrBeast, Colin Hanks and Rebecca Miller. In addition, the creators behind five buzzy YouTube series — Royal Court‘s Brittany Broski, Challenge Accepted‘s Michelle Khare, Huge* If True‘s Cleo Abram, Celebrity Substitute‘s Julian Shapiro-Branham, SubwayTakes‘ Kareen Rahma and Hot Ones‘ Sean Evans — joined in to talk the evolution of content on the world’s biggest streaming platform.
