‘Emily In Paris’ To End With Season 6 On Netflix, Product...

Emily in Paris‘ upcoming sixth season will be the Netflix comedy series’ last. Star Lily Collins and creator Darren Star commemorated the occasion with behind the scenes photos in Greece where production on the final season started today.

This caps Emily In Paris‘ journey, which stared with a 2018 series order at Paramount Network where it was supposed to be paired with Star’s TV Land dramedy Younger. Emily In Paris moved to Netflix ahead of its first season, originally produced for Paramount Network by MTV Entertainment Studios. The studio’s parent company went through two mergers since, Viacom-CBS and Paramount-Skydance; the studio underwent a couple of transformations too, it is now Paramount Television Studios.

The Greece location picks up from the Season 5 finale cliffhanger, in which Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) sent Emily (Collins) a postcard from the ancient country, asking her to meet him there.

Star at the time told Deadline that the duo reconnecting “definitely hints at the idea that they’ll stay in each other’s lives.” This being in the final season and Emily accepting Gabriel’s invitation also hints that fans may get what they had been hoping for since Episode 1 — that the star-crossed lovers are endgame.

“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime,” Star said. “As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris!”

In a video, which you can watch below, Collins addressed the show’s fans.

“Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime,” she said. “Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season, which we’re now filming. I can’t wait for all of the magic ahead, and to celebrate our final season with you in the most chic way yet. We’re so incredibly grateful, and we love you all.”

Seasons 1–5 of Emily In Paris, which made its Netflix debut in 2020, have spent 32 weeks on the streamer’s Global Top 10 list and reached #1 in 90 countries. The series has inspired fashion trends and memes and has boosted tourism to France, getting praise for its role in bringing tourists to the country from French President Emmanuel Macron.

On Netflix, Emily In Paris streams alongside other Star series and movies, including Sex and the City, Younger, Sex and the City: The Movie, Sex and the City 2, and Uncoupled. He has a new comedy on the streamer, the recently picked up Uncorked, about a talented but self-destructive winemaker who returns to Napa for her second chance at love, legacy and that elusive 100 point wine.

Emily in Paris started with the eponymous heroine (Collins), an ambitious twentysomething marketing executive from Chicago, unexpectedly landing her dream job in Paris. Her new life is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles work, friendships, and romance.

Star is the writer, executive producer and showrunner of the series, produced by Paramount Television Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media.
