And the winner of March's Meme of the Month award, with 13 percent of the total votes, is …

"Thank You… Chainsaw Man!" This meme is based on a page from the last chapter of the manga series Chainsaw Man, where the character Asa calls Denji "Chainsaw Man" in what's been described as a tonally strange meta joke by some and a perfectly fine, lighthearted moment by others.

While the scene was divisive, along with the ending as a whole, its meme potential was undeniable. The day the chapter dropped, fans of the series took the page and began redrawing and editing it with new characters. No character was safe from the meme, whether they came from another manga series, a video game or a movie.

In the memes, the subject is shocked to be called by the title of their series, following the same format as the original and borrowing a lot from the "Say That Again" meme.

With Chainsaw Man now behind us, what better way to celebrate than a Meme of the Month award? Congratulations and thank you, Chainsaw Man, for all the memes.

I Just Hit the Jackpot

Coming in at second with 9 percent of the total votes is the "I Just Hit the Jackpot" meme, a series of memes based on an anime-inspired rap song that blew up on TikTok in March.

The song comes to us from content creator GameboyJones, who's known on TikTok for his anime edits set to original rap songs. This song is about Jujutsu Kaisen and went viral after GameboyJones uploaded a video where he's seen rapping it and bobbing back and forth over a JJK edit.

As a meme, the song's audio, which begins, "Hold up, wait, I just hit the jackpot," is being reinterpreted to make jokes about hitting different kinds of jackpots. This includes things like learning there's a substitute teacher and skipping class, getting a perfect score on a test because you used AI, and getting placed in a lobby with worse players than yourself in a video game you've hardly played.

Beyond all that, the clip of GameboyJones dancing and singing is also being run through AI to turn the rapper into different characters, making for a surprisingly versatile meme format.

Your AI Slop Bores Me

In third with about 8 percent of the total votes is "Your AI Slop Bores Me," a website that allows you to LARP as an AI chatbot and answer user-submitted prompts with either text or a silly little drawing.

The website blew up in March as both a funny statement on AI and a fun game to pass the time. It wasn't long before the site's users began sharing their funniest interactions on X / Twitter, including a lot of drawings and responses that reference memes and pop culture.

It may not be a replacement for AI, but the website offers something unique and creative that brings people together against the increasingly stressful rise of the clankers, and that's something worth celebrating.

DLSS 5 Off / DLSS 5 On

In fourth with 6 percent of the total votes is the "DLSS 5 Off vs. On" memes, another set of anti-AI memes that cropped up after Nvidia announced its DLSS 5 tech, which lets developers implement generative AI to optionally upscale the graphics on games.

Anything even remotely related to AI tends to get criticized online, and the DLSS 5 news was no exception. While some people thought the results were impressive, others compared the videos showcasing DLSS 5 to running a video through an AI filter.

Many were outraged for video game artists and designers, believing that the technology disrespects their art by changing the way it looks, even if the technology is meant to keep the overall design of the art the same.

This resulted in a lot of memes that jokingly show how something might look with DLSS 5 turned off and on, including everything from famous YouTubers to memes to anime characters and beyond.

In the memes, the subject is essentially yassified when DLSS 5 is turned on, highlighting one of the major issues that DLSS 5 critics have with the technology.

Socrates Skeleton Ragebait Videos

Rounding off the top five with just under 6 percent of the total votes is the "Socrates Skeleton Ragebait Videos," a series of AI-generated memes in which Ancient Greek philosopher Socrates just can't stop annoying a time-travelling skeleton.

These bizarre memes are based on a series of videos that illustrate different "what if" scenarios related to time travel. Most of these videos start with a ridiculous premise like, "What if you went back to ancient Greece to sell Monster Energy drinks?" and then work that scenario out with a 3D skeleton man.

In each video, Socrates eventually shows up to philosophically challenge the skeleton, ultimately annoying him. As the meme evolved, Socrates' involvement became the centerpiece of the videos, and his behavior became increasingly annoying.

Also, for some reason, people kept on generating him twerking, also known as "throwing yams," becoming something of its own spin-off meme.

And now for some of the memes that didn't quite make the top five.

In a close sixth place is IShowSpeed's "Say Wallahi Bro" meme, followed by the "Higuruma Stressed Out" meme in seventh, "Bro Failed One Test" in eighth, the "McDonald's CEO's Big Arch Burger Test" in ninth and the "Strait of Hormuz Bypass Solutions" in tenth.

Just below that was the "Angry Bird Ear" meme, the "Geeked Patrick" reaction image, "Alex Jones' 'Patriot, Vampire'" format, "The Faithful Sheriff" and the "Nick Wilde Scuba Dance."

Thank you for voting, and see you next month!
