Bradley Hearn · 2024-09-20 · via Inside Nutrient

At Nutrient, we know staying ahead of the curve is essential to your success. For iOS developers, that means being ready for the latest Apple innovations the moment they arrive.

Following an announcement at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference(opens in a new tab) earlier this year, Apple officially released its newest operating systems, including iOS 18, on September 16.

In conjunction with this release, Nutrient is proud to announce the rollout of version 14 of our SDK for iOS, giving you a seamless transition to the latest mobile advancements through full support for iOS 18, macOS 15, and visionOS 2.

(Learn more about the version numbering of our releases here.)

A competitive edge

As always, our team has been closely monitoring this development and worked proactively to ensure our SDK for iOS supported this release as soon as it became available. Supporting iOS 18 from day one gives you the power to stay ahead of the competition.

This early adoption strategy ensures that developers using Nutrient can instantly tap into the new APIs, features, and frameworks introduced in iOS 18, letting you build apps that not only meet current demands but are also future-proofed for emerging trends.

Seamless integration for effortless upgrades

Upgrading to a new OS shouldn’t slow you down. With our latest release, we’ve engineered a smooth transition to iOS 18, eliminating the hassle of compatibility issues and allowing you to harness the full potential of Apple’s latest OS, so that you can focus on creating great apps — without disruption.

Best-in-class developer experience

At Nutrient, delivering the best developer experience is a cornerstone of what we do.

Extensive documentation, a responsive support network, and a vibrant developer community ensure everything you need is right at your fingertips — whether you’re adding new features or refining existing ones.

Support for what’s next

We’ve been preparing all summer to bring you the best of iOS 18. And we’re just getting started.

We added support for dark and tinted app icons in our PDF Viewer(opens in a new tab) app. And as iOS 18 evolves, you can count on us to roll out new features swiftly and to push the boundaries further. Our upcoming releases will include AI-powered Writing Tools that utilize Apple Intelligence for advanced text summarization and tone adjustment, empowering you to build smarter, more intuitive apps. Other enhancements, such as Image Playground, are still in development with Apple and are expected to be released soon.

Looking ahead

As Apple refines iOS 18, we’ll continue to roll out new features to our mobile SDK to ensure you stay on the front lines of mobile development.

Expect more news soon as we support Apple’s latest advancements and help you build the most competitive, innovative apps on the market, backed by Nutrient’s comprehensive support and best-in-class technology.

We can’t wait to see what you’ll create with Nutrient 14 and iOS 18!
