Welcoming Zá Scalon, our new Brand Designer
Zeh Fernandes, Zá Scalon · 2026-01-07 · via Resend RSS Feed

Today, we’re excited to announce Zá Scalon will be joining our design team at Resend as a Brand Designer!

Zá has more than 10 years of experience, with a strong background in graphic design and branding. She has worked with companies like Olist and Pipo Saúde, helping shape and evolve their brand presence across different touchpoints.

We’re very excited to have someone dedicated to growing the Resend brand to new levels. Here’s more about her in her own words.

More about Zá

How did you get into design?

My mom was an art teacher at a school, so I was always surrounded by paint, different kinds of paper, screens, fabric, pencils, and constantly encouraged to express myself, create, and try different things.

As I grew older, I became fascinated by blogs, MTV, magazines, and by how beautifully crafted they were. That’s when I fell into the Photoshop and CorelDRAW (RIP) early-2010s teenage trap, which eventually led me through technical courses, university, and a full career in graphic design.

Why are you at Resend?

I’ve been following Resend ever since a friend of mine joined the team, and I’ve always admired its brand and attention to detail across the website, posts, product, and overall communication. I had the pleasure of closely following part of the rebranding process and became a big fan of the team and the way they brought the new brand to life. I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to be part of it and help evolve the brand even further.

Where do you find #inspiration?

Basically everywhere. In supermarkets, on the streets, in my daughter’s books (most of the color palettes I use come from her bookshelf), coffee shops, signs.

From really good to terrible design, everything works as a reference for some project. So wherever I go, I take pictures and save them to my gallery, because I know there will be a time to use them.

If you weren't designing, what would you be doing?

I would probably be an extracurricular teacher for children. I had the opportunity to work in the field before working as a designer, and I loved presenting kids with a problem, helping them break it down, and then simply watching how their minds worked to find incredible ways to solve it. They taught me a lot about breaking down every problem I face as much as possible, and about finding creative—and even crazy—ways to solve it.

Favorite tool?

Both Figma and Adobe Illustrator. I can’t let go of my past, haha—but since I’m always working on files that need to be printed, I rely on Illustrator to make sure everything is perfectly prepared for print.

Favorite hotkey?

Command + Shift + Control + 4

I screenshot everything, but I hate filling my home screen with hundreds of files.

Favorite place to visit?

Bombinhas-SC, Brazil. A small town surrounded by the most beautiful tiny beaches I’ve ever seen. Crystal-clear waters, colorful fish, gigantic trees (not palm trees—real trees with delightful shade), cool public skate parks, and plenty of time to rest.

Advice for ambitious designers?

Be close to people you admire (both as individuals and as professionals) and be part of their development, achievements and growth. It will bring you joy and a ton of inspiration.
