We’re excited to share that Felipe Freitag is joining Resend's Software Engineering team (with a focus on DX).

Felipe has over 9 years of experience building products. He ran a software agency called Seasoned, working end-to-end with clients of all sizes—from MVPs to enterprise. He’s passionate about productivity and removing friction for developers, and has been exploring AI-driven workflows in his recent work.

How did you get into software?

My first contact with software was during an electronics course in high school. I built some fun projects: programming a microcontroller in Assembly to test CRT TVs, a tic-tac-toe game in C, and a chat app that connected two computers through their serial ports.

I went on to study computer engineering, but my path wasn’t linear. I spent years freelancing across different areas, including graphic facilitation, whiteboard videos, and leadership training. That experience later proved valuable when I co-founded Seasoned. I’ve been building for almost a decade now, and I’m excited about exploring what AI makes possible.

What does your desktop/home screen look like?

Just the Mac default one, clean

Why are you at Resend?

I met Zeno years ago and have been following his work ever since. What drew me in is how much the team respects both the craft and their customers, and the care they put into product quality. Resend aims to be at the forefront of developer tools, and I’m excited to contribute to that goal.

Where do you find #inspiration?

I like observing how highly skilled builders relate to their craft, by following them on social media and reading their books. I also get inspiration from rich, dense fictional worlds in books, games, and TV shows. Lately, I've been reading through The Expanse series.

If you weren't programming, what would you be doing?

I'd probably run a service business, since I have previous experience with it. But I'd also be an archery instructor.

Favorite tool?

Claude Code. Since I started exploring AI, it's become my go-to for all kinds of work.

Favorite hotkey?

CMD+Shift+4 - I take screenshots often to communicate with stakeholders and to show Claude Code what I'm seeing.

Favorite place to visit?

I'm at the archery range whenever I can. I love the mix of concentration, physical exercise, and mental clarity it provides.

Advice for ambitious software engineers?

Go deep in the fundamentals and explore new shiny tools.

A strong foundation helps you understand tradeoffs and raise your ceiling. New tools expand your imagination and help you ship faster. Doing only one creates a gap: fundamentals without exploration makes it hard to innovate, and new tools without depth makes it hard to grow.
