Welcoming Erin Levine, our new Chief of Staff
Jonni Lundy, Erin Levine · 2025-09-10 · via Resend RSS Feed

Resend is scaling on all fronts. Our team has doubled in the last six months and we are now onboarding nearly 100 customers every day.

This is why we're excited to welcome Erin Levine, our new Chief of Staff. Erin is a 2x founding ops hire with extensive experience in recruiting and people. She has consistently led 0-1 projects and is known for getting her hands dirty with anything that drives the business forward.

Her mission is to help Resend scale gracefully, keeping us grounded in our culture, maturing our core operations, and driving our people ops to new heights.

How did you get into software?

I graduated as an Anthropology major and was really interested in how societies work, what makes people tick, and supporting other humans.

Initially, I wanted to go into International Development/Humanitarian Aid but started exploring other paths after graduation and happened to land as an Office Manager at an IT consulting agency. I loved being the go-to and glue for the team.

I quickly found the world of startups, and I never looked back. Companies are really similar to societies with unique cultures, people and challenges — and I really love helping to build them.

Why are you at Resend?

There were a couple of things I was looking for in my search and Resend checked every box:

  1. Working alongside founders with a culture that prioritizes great people building really cool solutions, including ownership, transparency, and supporting the awesome humans to make it happen.
  2. The opportunity to be creative in building an operations function that seriously impacts scale and success.

My interview process with Resend was super fast (4 days fast!) and each conversation very quickly solidified that I absolutely wanted to work with the founders, team, and culture at Resend.

Where do you find #inspiration?

When I’m blocked or thinking through a new challenge, I usually find being outdoors does the trick. There’s not much that a long dog walk can’t solve with some music. It gives me space to think about — what I’m trying to solve, why this needs to be solved and the different paths to take in order to find the best solution.

If you weren't in Ops, what would you be doing?

Probably a veterinarian. I love animals and really feel connected to them. I’d love to rescue a bunch of animals and give them a happy, loving life and sanctuary.

Or, I’d be an event planner. I really enjoy hosting and mixing creativity with high-detail organization.

Favorite tool?

Open Org: a startup people community with open source resources and peers always raising hands to share what they have learned with others. Open Org has really shaped how I approach building — transparently, people-first and thinking of people experience as a product.

Favorite hotkey?

Command + Shift + 4. Simple but I am always screenshotting!

Favorite place to visit?

Anywhere tropical where time feels like it stops is always the best reset for me — the FL Keys or any Caribbean island usually. I love the ocean and sun, trying local seafood, and completely unplugging.

Advice for ambitious software engineers?

Everyone figures out their path differently but building resilience, asking all the questions, and understanding what motivates you will bring a lot of clarity to the path you want to take.

Take on opportunities to grow closer to product, users, and business outcomes. Learn as much as you can outside of technical work and find a challenge to solve that energizes you!
