We're excited to share that Bruno Rubin is joining the team as a DevOps Engineer.

Bruno is a senior engineer who spent the last 10+ years building and maintaining large scale environments. He worked in companies of all sizes and industries, including Xero, Westpac, and Envato.

How did you get into coding?

I was that kid who couldn't resist tearing apart toys just to see how they ticked. It was during those days of fixing and breaking stuff that I developed a fascination for computers. During high school, I took things up a notch and even wrote a cheeky little book to teach my friends how to hack into our school's network. From that moment, there was no turning back.

What does your desktop screen look like?

Why are you at Resend?

I was looking for a new challenge that resonated with my skills and aspirations. The chance to merge my expertise in DevOps with a company pushing the boundaries of developer-focused tools caught my attention. Joining Resend was not just about a job, it was about embarking on a journey to shape the future of communication APIs.

Where do you find #inspiration?

Living in New Zealand for almost nine years opened my eyes to diverse cultures and perspectives. Exploring the world outside my comfort zone fuels my imagination and inspires me to think outside the box. Also, I find inspiration in the stories of innovators, builders, and founders pushing boundaries and making meaningful impacts on the world. Oh, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

If you weren't helping developers, what would you be doing?

Probably something like product or graphic design. I've always had a knack for bringing ideas to life, involving creativity and problem-solving.

Favorite tool?

Obsidian has been my favorite tool lately. I don't trust my memory so I'm using it to take notes, organize my tasks and to-dos, plan out my day-to-day, and all in markdown format.

Favorite hotkey?

Cmd + Space used Alfred as my preferred launcher in the early days and now giving Raycast a go. It's like having a Swiss army knife right at your fingers.

Favorite place to visit?

Hands down, my parents' house. There's just something magical about returning to the place where it all began, it's like hitting the reset button and being enveloped in a warm hug of nostalgia and love.

Advice for ambitious developers?

Stay curious, explore new technologies, and never stop learning. Embrace failure and don't be afraid to break things, learn from it.
