As of 10/08/2025, the Diamond name has been deprecated, and AI code review capabilities now slot under Graphite Agent.

Last week we launched Diamond (formerly Graphite Reviewer), our agentic AI code review companion, as a standalone product. Our decision to break out Diamond from the larger Graphite platform was driven by one key goal: accessibility. We believe every team using AI code generation tools like Copilot, Cursor, and Windsurf should also be using an AI code review tool like Diamond to keep their code correct, performant, and secure. This move allows any team building on GitHub to integrate Diamond into their workflow, even if they don’t already use Graphite. Best of all, Diamond is free up to 100 pull requests reviewed per month, so startups won’t pay anything until they scale.

The need for faster, smarter code review

At Graphite, we talk a lot about the “outer loop” of development, which refers to code review, testing, merging, and deployment. As AI helps engineers write code faster than ever, teams need a new outer loop toolchain that can keep up with the volume of code changes without becoming a bottleneck. That’s where Diamond shines: by cutting down code review wait times from hours to seconds.

Diamond builds on the capabilities of Graphite Reviewer with customizable rules, contextualized feedback, and one-click suggested fixes. Additionally, Diamond now works with any org repo on GitHub, making it easy for any team to get started with AI-powered code reviews and accelerate their development cycle.

How Diamond fits into the bigger picture

While Diamond has the opportunity to accelerate and elevate the quality of code reviews, that’s still just one part of the process. To fully optimize the outer loop, teams need a toolchain that helps them create, review, and merge pull requests at scale. That’s why Diamond reaches its full potential when used alongside the rest of Graphite, our AI-powered developer productivity platform. Diamond delivers intelligent, fast AI code reviews, while the complete Graphite platform—including stacked PRs, an automated merge queue, optimized CI, and a unified PR inbox—makes sure every other step is smooth, organized, and efficient.

With Graphite, developers can take advantage of:

  • Stacked PRs for parallelized review & development: Graphite enables you to stack pull requests, so you can build on open changes without waiting for sequential merges.

  • Minimized merge conflicts through our merge queue. The Graphite Merge Queue automatically organizes and processes pull requests, ensuring that your trunk branch remains stable and “green.”

  • CI Optimizations for faster feedback: Integrated with Buildkite and GitHub Actions, Graphite’s CI optimizations let you selectively trigger tests and batch runs for stacked PRs.

  • Unified PR Inbox for better review management: Graphite consolidates all pull requests into one central view, making it easier for your team to track, prioritize, and manage code reviews efficiently.

Diamond is free up to 100 PRs reviewed per month and can be purchased separately from a Graphite subscription, but you can try out a free trial of Graphite to see all of these features in action with Diamond.

Level up your development workflow today

Together, Diamond and Graphite form a toolchain that accelerates your outer loop, elevates code quality, and adapts to the demands of modern software development. Experience the benefits of intelligent code review today by trying Diamond, and explore the full potential of Graphite to accelerate your team.
