The sixth JPAAWG General Meeting was held in Kanazawa, Japan on November 6th and 7th of 2023. Attendance was strong, with many attendees participating in Q&A over two days of engaging technical and practical presentations.

This year’s presentation again summarized developments in the IETF‘s DMARC Working Group since the prior meeting, and updates on technical proposals to prevent DKIM Replay Attacks and the state of the DKIM Working Group that had been revived to address the issue.

A significant topic of discussion throughout the conference was the then-recent coordinated announcements from GMail and Yahoo of stricter requirements for email authentication, to be implemented in early 2024. A special meeting was held after the last scheduled session, with Severin Walker speaking on behalf of M3AAWG and Steve Jones representing DMARC.org.
