Funeral details have been announced for Bobby Ryan 'Minor', a father of two who died in a crash in Co Limerick on Sunday, June 14.

Bobby Ryan 'Minor' died in a two-vehicle collision on the L1135 between Pallasgreen and Cappamore in east Limerick. A number of others were injured in the incident and taken to hospital for treatment.

Mr Ryan, aged in his 40s, was the sole occupant of one of the cars and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for an autopsy.

His requiem Mass will take place at St Michael's Church in Cappamore at 1.30pm on Thursday, followed by private cremation.

Originally from Killuragh House, Cappamore, Mr Ryan has been described as a gent who had a “gorgeous, contagious smile”.

In a notice posted on RIP.ie, the family said they would like to thank the emergency services for their help, especially Brendan Dillon.

A friend wrote in tribute: “So handsome, so loved, Marie, John and family, you are all truly blessed to call him a son, a brother, a father. If there were more men like Bobby, wouldn't the world be just a beautiful place? Bobby had a gorgeous, contagious smile, Bobby’s eyes just lit up with pure radiant love. From my heart to yours, Bobby, you were an amazing neighbour and friend."

Another tribute read: “It is with deep sadness to note that Bobby, our former pupil from primary school, has passed in such tragic circumstances. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends. We pray that all will receive support and solace in the days and months ahead."

As gardaí continue to investigate, they have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

They also have asked the public not to share footage of the crash.

"An Garda Síochána is aware that images and video footage related to this incident are circulating on social media and messaging platforms. We are appealing to anyone who receives this content to refrain from sharing or reposting it further," said a Garda spokesperson.

It is understood the occupants of the other car were a family from Doon.

The driver, a woman aged in her 50s, was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment for serious injuries.

A teenage girl was also conveyed to UHL for treatment for serious injuries.

A woman aged in her 20s and a teenage boy were also taken to UHL for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling on the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, between 9.30pm and 10pm on Sunday, June 14, are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bruff Garda Station on 061 382940, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
