Yara Klukas serves as the First Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to returning to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she served as a trial judge in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida where she presided over both civil and criminal domestic violence cases.

Before her judicial appointment, Yara served both as a line prosecutor in the Southern District of Florida and worked as a Senior Associate at an international law firm.  There, she focused her practice on commercial litigation, international arbitrations, and government investigations.

Yara started her legal career by serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James Lawrence King of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Honorable Peter T. Fay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
