














James Poland serves as the US Attorney’s Chief of Staff for the Southern District of Florida. He joins us on an extended detail from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he serves as the Administrative Officer for the New York Field Office. James also previously served as the Administrative Officer for FBI San Juan. He has significant leadership experience working in FBI offices throughout the country, to include New York, San Juan, Miami, San Diego, Jackson, and JTF / USN Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Additionally, he has previously served in FBI Headquarters, staffing the following Divisions throughout his career: Finance and Facilities Division, Human Resources Division, and the Victim Services Division. He also served a two-year Joint Duty Assignment with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, serving as the FBI Liaison Officer to the Chief Financial Officer.
James is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from Wheeling Jesuit University and a Master’s Degree in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University.
