
























Ceph is fantastic software, but keep in mind it is heavy! It also does block storage, s3 is just one of the options.
I'm not sure if it is still the case, but it pins CPU cores to ensure fast throughput. So it can use a lot of power.
And if you are doing a distributed setup, it won't be truly happy without 10g or higher NIC! 1g will cause problems.
Also, do not try SSD without PLP (ie consumer SSDs), or you may be in for a shock! (very low IOPS)
