minio -> garage nerly complete

Posted Jun 26, 2026 0:33 UTC (Fri) by gerdesj (subscriber, #5446)
Parent article: A look at MinIO alternatives: Ceph and Garage

To be fair to minio: I never paid anything to them but then I never asked for payment for my paltry open source contributions either. Perhaps they have profited from something I've created or not - who cares? I do me and they do them.

The shitty bit is there will be loads of blogs, some of which were written by people, documenting how to use min.io for a project. The grass roots stuff or basically weeds in a search now. That's all a bit wank now and probably contributing to AI hallucination.
