This Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, celebrate the cultures, traditions and stories of the Asian and Pasifika communities with Google. And get to know the creators who are weaving their heritage into their work.

Meet the man behind the music

Born in India and raised in the U.S., genre-defying singer-songwriter Talwiinder built a cross-continental fan base by blending his Punjabi roots with modern electric and R&B music.

For the music video of his latest track, ‘'Dil Mera Part 2," Talwiinder wanted to match the song’s boundary pushing energy and marry his innovative sound with a medieval aesthetic. As part of our recent Google Flow collaboration, Talwiinder and filmmaker Bowdhitya bridged the gap between imagination and reality by using Flow to generate intricate fire, water and character sequences and bring the concept to life.

The result was mind-blowing. "Some of the shots and the detail is just amazing,” Talwiinder said. “Especially when the character is walking and the fire and the water, the crispiness, the detail is next-level."

See their AI-driven artistry in action in the full music video and go behind the scenes to learn how it was made.

Recognize the communities all month (and year)

Here are other ways to immerse yourselves in Asian and Pasifika cultures across our products:

  • Celebrate the energy of K-pop: On May 7, check out the Google Doodle highlighting how the artistry and energy of K-pop dance connects fans worldwide.
  • Discover your next read on Google Play: Find special in-app events celebrating the month, and explore curated reading lists spotlighting Asian American authors and their favorite books: Fonda Lee’s reading list. Vaishnavi Patel’s reading list. Kylie Lee Baker’s reading list.
  • Find your next favorite show on Google TV: Head to Google TV for curated collections of TV shows and movies — including K-dramas and anime — many of which will be available to watch for free with ads.
  • Hear from your favorite creators with YouTube: Follow YouTube's official channels — X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Shorts — for stories and features from influential Asian and Pasifika creators and artists.
  • Update your background on Google Meet: You can use a new virtual background inspired by Asian American culture on your next video call.

Even after the month has wrapped, you can use Search and Google Maps to find and support Asian-owned businesses, explore Asian American and Pasifika stories on the Google Arts & Culture hub and update your Chrome with art from the Asian & Pacific Islander Artists Series.
