Google has signed the Industry Accord Against Online Scams and Fraud.
Karen Courington · 2026-03-16 · via Public Policy

Today at the UN Global Fraud Summit in Vienna, we signed the Industry Accord Against Online Scams & Fraud. Google is joined by online industry partners including Adobe, Amazon, Levi Strauss & Co, LinkedIn, Match Group, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Pinterest and Target. As an industry, we’ll unify our collective capabilities, share threat intelligence and coordinate defenses to fight global scammers.

The Accord lands at a critical moment when online scams are evolving beyond isolated incidents. People are facing sophisticated, global, organized criminal networks that are causing significant financial and emotional harm.

That’s why we’re also building on the $15 million in funding Google.org has already provided by expanding the availability of our expertise and technical capabilities, including utilizing AI-driven solutions to detect and neutralize global scams. In 2026, we’ll be sharing more information through the Global Signal Exchange, working closely with law enforcement and convening summits with international partners to build better cross-border defenses together. Alongside partners, Google will also release a series of guides on data sharing, private sector referrals to law enforcement and public policy frameworks.
