Google is exploring a new data center project in Lea County, New Mexico. While discussions are ongoing, we recognize residents are asking questions about data center development, so we want to be transparent and start our conversation with the community early.

Our goal in Lea County is simple: serve as long-term partners who can be counted on to do the right thing in support of the places we call home. That includes responsibly managing vital water resources, paying for 100% of the energy we use and infrastructure we need, and showing up as active members of the community.

Though many details remain outstanding, we’re excited about the possibilities that exist in Lea County, and look forward to sharing more as the project progresses.
