We too easily conflate “this is not going away” (whatever that means) with “there’s no point resisting”
It seems to me like the reverse is true. The longer something harmful has-been or will-be around, the more resistance is essential in limiting that harm.
In fact, if you are interested in keeping something around despite the well-documented harms – maybe you ought to be right out front in doing that resistance work.
My job as a designer/developer is not to hype new tech, but to carefully protect my communities against it’s mis-use.
