Is the Big Banana Car World Tour ever going to happen?

The plan was always a two part plan:
1. Build a huge motorised banana (Done that).
2. Drive it all around the world (Working on it).

The issues are:

Funding (as always), Insurance and Finishing my current vehicle.

Funding.
The funding isn’t a huge problem so long as I can sell Big Banana Car t-shirts and mugs.

Insurance.
I would like to find an insurance company who offers coverage in multiple countries and partner with them.

The Current project.
My current project is a “Diesel punk” vehicle called the Starfield Dragonwing Intergalactic Speedster. I’m not going to say too much about that now, other than it’s about 85% finished and I really don’t want to leave until it’s finished and on the road.

Oh. And I’d like to find someone to come along who knows (and enjoys) filming, editing and uploading videos and has a passport. This wouldn’t be a paying gig but we would go 50/50 on the resulting YouTube (etc) income.

I built the Big Banana Car over a two+ year period starting in 2008 and, with the help of a close group of friends, finished the car in the spring of 2011.

I have since driven the Big Banana Car all over the USA, parts of Canada and a day in Mexico.

The plan is to drive the banana car all around our wonderful planet. Meeting people, giving rides and seeking out those fun, whimsical folks who make our world a little bit more interesting.

To pay for my travels – fuel, repairs, food etc – I have teamed up with Printify to sell Big Banana Car t-shirts and coffee mugs.

Thank you.
Steve
