Despite the fearmongering around a prolonged closure of Strait of Hormuz, current forecasts for the US and EU remain relatively stable.

While a continued disruption of oil exports would clearly slow growth and keep inflation elevated for longer, most baseline scenarios still stop well short of the deep recessions, energy rationing, and systemic financial stress seen in past major oil shocks and global crises.
