The NGO Center for Civil Rights invited citizens to gather tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Grahovac to mark May 21, Montenegro's Independence Day, stating that it is a place that symbolizes the struggle for freedom, dignity, and statehood.
"And why not tomorrow at Grahovac? Because of the glorious past, because of ourselves, because of all of us, and because of Montenegro that endures and will endure! At the place where our ancestors in 1858 won a victory that opened the path to international recognition of Montenegro, we gather to mark May 21 - the day when its independence was restored. Grahovac is not just a battlefield from history," state from CGP.
Grahovac, they say, is a vow of freedom.
"Here the Montenegrin freedom was paid with blood, heart, sacrifice and dignity. Tomorrow we will be at Grahovac, just as we were at Belveder, when it was necessary to defend the dignity of our time. There we must pay homage to the heroes of Grahovac and the great Duke Mirko. That is why Grahovac, May 21 and Belveder are the same story. A story of people who did not agree to kneel. Of people who knew that the state is not just territory, but honor, bright history and the right to be ourselves and unruly," emphasize from CGP.
Let it be, as they say, that the Montenegrin flags fly tomorrow at Grahovac, let the song be heard, and let all those who know how dearly each word was paid for gather: free and independent Montenegro.
"Because there are places that are not just places, and Grahovac is one of them. See you tomorrow!! May Montenegro be eternal," conclude from CGP.
