The Center for Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics (CKLD) of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) has received an accreditation certificate, thus, as they stated, becoming the first accredited laboratory in Montenegro for secondary and tertiary levels of healthcare.
During the certificate handover, Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun said that today's event is of special significance for the Montenegrin health system.

“Thus, Montenegro is getting a reference laboratory facility whose work will be in accordance with the highest internationally recognized criteria of quality, professional competence, and reliability of laboratory results. This success opens the possibility for accreditation of other organizational units of KCCG and other health institutions in Montenegro, confirming that our system has the knowledge, capacity, and determination to permanently embed the highest quality standards into practice,” said Šimun.
Director of KCCG, Dr. Aleksandar Radović, MD, MSc, sent sincere congratulations to his associates on the occasion of the successfully implemented accreditation procedure, although it was demanding.

"Accreditation by the Accreditation Body of Montenegro, as a signatory to the multilateral agreement, among others, in the field of medical testing with European accreditation, represents a confirmation of the expertise, competence and reliability of the laboratory's work. At the same time, it confirms that the laboratory reports issued by KCCG are accepted with full confidence, equally as the reports of accredited medical laboratories from European Union countries," said Radović.
Director of the Accreditation Service of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro, Tanja Radović, presented the accreditation certificate to the director of KCCG, Dr. Radović, and on that occasion said that today's event is not only a matter of standards and procedures, but also a matter of responsibility towards the patient, the quality of healthcare, and the trust that citizens have in the healthcare system.
They explained that CKLD KCCG, through the process initiated in 2022 and completed in 2026, introduces standardized procedures in accordance with the requirements of the MEST EN 15189 standard, thus regulating the entire laboratory work process. The accreditation was carried out by the Accreditation Body of Montenegro, and the implementation of accreditation includes the introduction of standard operating procedures (SOP), which significantly contributes to improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of laboratory services.
