The event united more than 270 principals and school leaders from across southern Sydney to share best-practice teaching and learning initiatives designed to support high-achieving students.
As part of the Department's Inspire program, Menai High School has developed a range of targeted initiatives that foster academic excellence and a lifelong love of learning.
Students are already benefiting from these programs, which include a 10-week mathematics enrichment program held each Thursday for years four, five and six students from feeder primary schools. The intensive challenges are designed to extend skills and build early enthusiasm for numeracy.

In language education, Menai High School's Japanese teacher visits a feeder primary school each week to deliver introductory lessons to kindergarten students, capturing early language skills during a critical stage of childhood development. Leadership skills are also being nurtured across generations, with year 10 students mentoring primary school pupils in term-based sessions focused on communication and teamwork.
Menai High School offers enrichment classes for years seven to 10 that provide advanced curriculum content and accelerated learning opportunities. Specialist electives, including marine biology, are also on offer to support student engagement and extend learning.
These programs are yielding impressive academic results, with Menai High School recently identified as one of the top 20 schools in NSW for exceptional value-add performance, which measures how much students improve their academic results between year nine NAPLAN and the HSC. Consistently, about 75 per cent of the school's HSC results place in the top three bands.
