About 8am today, Friday, May 8, officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command responded to reports of an armed robbery at a pharmacist on the Kingsway, Caringbah.
Police were informed that a male had allegedly entered the pharmacy and produced a scalpel before leaving the premises with a quantity of medication.
A 44-year-old man was arrested by officers along the Kingsway at 8.45am allegedly in possession of the medication.
The man was taken to Sutherland Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court where he was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday, July 16.
There were no reports of any person being injured.
