The Los Angeles Rams are trying to go on one more deep playoff run with Matthew Stafford still behind center. To do that, the team might need to add one more offensive weapon.
That’s what USA Today’s Nate Davis argued this week. On Wednesday, Davis named the Rams one of six potential landing spots for one of the top receivers left in NFL free agency — Stefon Diggs.
“They’ve got a similar amount of cash in their free agent slush fund as the Colts – though the sooner LA extends Puka Nacua, the less he’ll cost the Rams in the long run. Yet for a team so roundly criticized for picking QB Ty Simpson in the first round of the draft, adding Diggs on a short-term contract could nicely bolster a team clearly in a Super Bowl window of opportunity while costing a lot less than, say, trading for Brown,” wrote Davis. “Diggs, who typically splits time between the slot and lining up wide, could also reduce the load on fellow graybeard Davante Adams, who’s a year older than Diggs and limped down the stretch with hamstring issues in 2025.
“The Rams also simply lack depth at the position beyond Nacua and Adams.”
