On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Angels will continue their series with the Chicago White Sox (at home) in California.

The Angels are coming off a 6-0 loss on Monday.

Angels Release SF Giants World Series Champion

Also on Monday, the Angels organization released Hunter Strickland from his minor league deal (via MLB.com).

@AngelsMiLB wrote: “Angels MiLB Transactions: LHP Angel Perdomo released by AAA Salt Lake. RHP Hunter Strickland released by AAA Salt Lake. RHP Aneurys Zabala released by AA Rocket City.”

Strickland had gone 0-2 with a 13.14 ERA in ten Triple-A games this season.

The 37-year-old pitched for the Angels in 2024 and 2025.

Strickland’s MLB Career

Strickland was picked in the 18th round of the 2007 MLB Draft.

He spent the first five seasons of his career playing for the San Francisco Giants.

In that span, Strickland went 14-14 with a 2.91 ERA in 253 games.

The Giants also won the World Series twice.

The Giants wrote (via X) on January 25, 2019: “From being called up to the big leagues in September of 2014 to being named our closer to start the 2018 season, Hunter Strickland is a fierce competitor, an outstanding teammate and a huge community supporter. Thank you, @hstrickland60.”

Strickland then had stints with the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Washington Nationals, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Mets, Seattle Mariners (and Angels) over 11 seasons.

He has gone 26-25 with a 3.39 ERA in 499 games.

Angels And Giants Right Now

The Angels are currently at the bottom of the American League West with a 13-23 record in 36 games.

They are 6-10 in 16 games at home.

Meanwhile, the Giants are the fourth-place team in the National League West with a 14-21 record in 35 games.

They are in the middle of a series with the San Diego Padres (at home).
