Arvid Lindblad is Britain's youngest-ever Formula 1 racer.

Racing Bulls has a new face, and American race fans will soon familiarize themselves with the name Arvid Lindblad. The youngest-ever British Formula 1 racer is just 18 years old, and he caught the attention of the folks at Red Bull Racing when he was 13 years old.

Lindblad competes for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, the junior Red Bull team. To start the 2026 season, he has four points with a best finish of eighth in the season opener in Melbourne.

“This is something I’ve been working towards and dreaming of my whole life,” Lindblad said before the Miami Grand Prix. “Even when I just say I’m a Formula 1 driver, it’s pretty cool. I still have to pinch myself sometimes.”

This weekend marks Lindblad’s American grand prix debut in Formula 1 competition. The Racing Bulls livery will look quite a bit different for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix, as the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls will be racing a “summer-sun yellow” in honor of the Red Bull Summer Edition Sudachi Lime.

“Each grand prix is an event, and seeing Miami this weekend is going to be cool,” Lindblad said. “Our paddock is in the NFL stadium, which is pretty cool. It’s my first time here in Miami, and getting to see the place and learn about the city is pretty cool, as well.”

Joining Racing Bulls

In a competitive Formula 1 landscape, Racing Bulls signed the rookie driver with high expectations. He is the only rookie on the Formula 1 grid in 2026.

He signed with the team late in 2026, joining fellow British drivers on the grid, including Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Oliver Bearman. Last year, he became the youngest winner in F2 history by claiming a triumph in Saudi Arabia.

“It has been really enjoyable, especially working with the engineers, and it’s been a really welcoming environment,” Lindblad said.

Since Lindblad joined Red Bull Racing, Helmut Marko played a key role in his development.

“I always had a special relationship with Dr. Marko,” Lindblad said. “He helped me learn a lot and to improve. It’s a big thanks to Helmut that I got this opportunity.”

Life as a Formula 1 racer is different for the 18-year-old. At times, he wants to be a regular teenager, but he also understands how special this opportunity with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls is.

“We were already doing our first test in January,” he explained. “This has been my goal and my dream, and we all have to sacrifice a bit.

The Partners That Make VCARB Go

Besides Visa Cash App, which is the title sponsor of the Racing Bulls, there are core partners that help this organization compete in Formula 1.

Among them, especially when Formula 1 competes in America three times a year, is longtime Red Bull Racing partner ExxonMobil. this year, the partnership has expanded once again prior to the first grand prix in the united states. The firm is now providing new fuel technology and on-site engineering expertise to VCARB, which gives the drivers additional on-track mobility.

“I really enjoy working with Mobil this year,” Lindblad said. “They are a massive partner for the team. This year, with the new engine, their knowledge and expertise has been super useful to drive forward the engine. This is the first Red Bull engine. Thanks to the collaboration with Mobil, we’ve been able to make it perform in a good way.”

This weekend, Mobil is having experiences across Miami for race fans, including simulators at the Mobil station.

The Miami Grand Prix will stream live on Apple TV on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.
