Charles Barkley is one of the greatest players in NBA history.

Four-time NBA champion Draymond Green has been making headlines over the past week for not just beefing with Austin Rivers. Green made things personal with Charles Barkley last Wednesday on Inside The NBA, but the Hall of Famer recently dropped a harsh reality check.

Filling in for Shaquille O’Neal, Green received a bit of a roasting from Barkley regarding the future of the Golden State Warriors. “Sir Charles” even urged Green and Steph Curry to leave the Bay Area if they want to contend for another championship.

Green acknowledged that the Warriors’ title window is closed, but he also couldn’t help but take a jab at Barkley.

“I think the goal is just to not look like you in the Houston Rockets uniform,” Green said.

While Barkley laughed at the joke, some fans online didn’t like how Green was being thin-skinned and making things personal.

Speaking to Dan Bickley and Vince Marotta on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, Charles Barkley dropped the hammer on his “beef” with Draymond Green. Barkley said what many fans are saying online regarding their playing careers.

“I never punch down,” Barkley said. “Draymond’s a good player, but we’re not on the same level. So, I can hear, but I don’t have to respond to every time somebody says something about me. He’s a really good player, he’s had a hell of a career, but we’re not on the same level.”

While Green has won four NBA championships, Barkley is a former league MVP. There was a time in the early 1990s when he was considered the second-best player in the world behind Michael Jordan.

As for the notion that Barkley wasn’t at his best in Houston, he averaged 16.5 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game in four seasons there.

In his worst season as a Rockets player, Barkley averaged 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Green’s best season was when he put up 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 2016.

Charles Barkley Doubles Down on Warriors Take

In an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Charles Barkley didn’t back down from his take about the Warriors. He even doubled down on why the Warriors aren’t considered contenders anymore.

“They are just going to get older,” Barkley said. “It’s over for Golden State. They had a great run. He took a personal shot at me, but I’m not sensitive. It’s been over in Golden State. If Golden State was relevant, he wouldn’t be in the studio with me.”

The Warriors are at a crossroads, with Steve Kerr’s future up in the air. Draymond Green could enter free agency, while Steph Curry is eligible for an extension at the age of 38.
