Discourse continues about the Giants potentially signing Odell Beckham Jr.

With the start of OTAs just around the corner, one major question for the Giants is what they will do regarding a possible reunion with Odell Beckham. As the discourse continues, one insider weighed in with his thoughts on the situation.

During the May 11th episode of ‘NFL Live,’ ESPN’s Dan Graziano was asked the latest about the Giants possibly reuniting with the free-agent wide receiver. He brought up numerous points as to why the team will continue to do its due diligence in the coming months.

“Is that a spot where the Giants have a need,” Graziano said. “Odell Beckham did not play last season. The last time we saw him, he was not the kind of player that was a difference maker. Good player, and he can do what they need him to do, but what would the role be? What would the need be? These are the kinds of questions I think get fleshed out in the next month or so.”

Injuries kept Beckham sidelined for the entirety of the 2025 season, but the 33-year-old is adamant about getting himself back on an NFL roster this year.

Giants Coach John Harbaugh Remaining in Contact With Odell Beckham

Throughout this offseason saga, one person who has chimed in a lot regarding Beckham is Giants head coach John Harbaugh. It’s worth noting that the two have previous ties, as their paths crossed on the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.

While speaking with the media during mandatory minicamp earlier this month, Harbaugh was once again asked about Beckham. He noted that he remains in contact with the veteran wideout, and a final decision on a signing might not come until closer to training camp.

“Talked to Odell a lot, probably three of four times in the last week, [see] where he’s at, where we’re at,” Harbaugh said Saturday after a Giants rookie minicamp practice. “He’s in Arizona right now training and spending time with his son. The goal for right now is for him to train and get as ready as he can be. And then we’ll see where we’re at at that time.”

From the beginning, Harbaugh’s messaging about possibly bringing in Beckham remains the same. The driving force on whether he gets signed or not largely depends on if the reunion fully makes sense for both sides.

Giants Could Consider Signing Odell Beckham in Light of Recent Injury News

Graziano spoke a lot about Beckham filling a need in his latest TV appearance. In light of recent news, New York might be considering a reunion even more.

Though still in the early stages of the offseason, the Giants’ receiver corps continues to take a hit. Earlier this month, news emerged that Darius Slayton underwent surgery to address an injury to his core. Fast forward a few weeks, and now it is Malik Nabers getting medical updates. Developments emerged on May 13th that the young wideout underwent a second surgery on the injured knee that cost him the majority of last season.

Giants WR Malik Nabers underwent a second surgery on his knee to remove scar tissue that was causing stiffness, according to sources.

I’m told the second surgery took place “multiple weeks ago” and it was described as a “clean up.” This second surgery isn’t expected to impact

In light of multiple receivers undergoing surgery, the possibility of the Giants signing Beckham as a stopgap option could grow slightly.
