Klay Thompson’s off-court drama just reached a new level of public humiliation. The Dallas Mavericks guard, already under fire following his high-profile split from Megan Thee Stallion, became the punchline of a viral SNL joke this weekend.

During a Weekend Update segment on Saturday Night Live, comedian Kam Patterson stopped by to weigh in on one of the biggest celebrity breakups of 2026. His commentary was brief:
“Who even is this guy? Wait a minute, there’s a WNBA for men? What would you even call that? The MNBA? To me, he’s not Klay, he’s dirt.”

The breakup between Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion went public in late April 2026, when Megan confirmed the split to TMZ and followed it with a formal statement:
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
But the statement was only the beginning. Megan also posted an Instagram Story, where she accused Thompson of cheating, alleged he had her “around your whole family playing house,” and said he couldn’t commit to being monogamous. That’s the accusation that turned the internet against him overnight.
Rather than issue a public denial or full statement, Thompson’s most visible reaction came when he replied to a content creator’s Instagram post criticizing him with just four words: “Please go touch grass.”

The cruelest irony of this moment is how far the narrative has swung. The couple made their red carpet debut in July 2025 at Megan’s own Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City. Thompson gushed about Megan publicly, saying at the time:
“Megan is such a special person and she inspires so many around the world… I’m honored to be here by her side.”
On February 7, 2026, Megan celebrated “Klay Day” for his 36th birthday, arranging for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to perform in his honor.
They posted workout TikToks together, golf content, and Megan even dropped a song called “Lover Girl” in October 2025, widely interpreted as being about Thompson.
Now, less than four months later, he’s “dirt” on SNL.
