The 2026 NBA Playoffs are in full swing, as the New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder are the first two teams in the league to advance to the conference finals after respective sweeps in the second round.

While the remaining two conference finals matchups have yet to be decided, NBA Finals odds have been shifting drastically since the start of the postseason.

The Thunder and San Antonio Spurs still have the highest odds to win the championship, as has been the case for most of the season. But after this recent Knicks surge and a few other teams struggling to prove themselves as top contenders, the odds to hoist the 2026 Larry O’Brien trophy now look more intriguing than ever.

Going through the major American sportsbooks and prediction markets, most tell a similar story about the NBA Finals odds. In order of highest odds, here are all the teams that are still left in the playoffs chances of winning the championship this season.

Oklahoma City Thunder Finals Odds: -180 on sportsbooks, 60% on prediction markets

San Antonio Spurs Finals Odds: +340 on sportsbooks, 20% on prediction markets

New York Knicks Finals Odds: +600 on sportsbooks, 14% on prediction markets

Detroit Pistons Finals Odds: +3000 on sportsbooks, 4% on prediction markets

Cleveland Cavaliers Finals Odds: +4500 on sportsbooks, 2% on prediction markets

Minnesota Timberwolves Finals Odds: +15000 on sportsbooks, 1% on prediction markets

Both the Spurs vs Timberwolves (3-2) and Pistons vs Cavaliers (2-2) playoff series are still happening, but with each game, the odds for all teams involved have been shifting.

Note: NBA Finals odds from top sportsbooks and prediction markets are aggregated together, as listed odds are averages from places like DraftKings, FanDuel, Kalshi, and Polymarket.

Where Each Team Sits In The 2026 NBA Finals Chase

GettySAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – MARCH 19: Victor Wembanyama #1 of the San Antonio Spurs is surrounded by teammates after he scored the game-winning basket against the Phoenix Suns at Frost Bank Center on March 19, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas.

Starting with the Thunder, their case is simple; they have one of the best players in the league in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, finished with the best record in the West for the third year in a row, and haven’t lost in the 2026 playoffs so far. They are likely the deepest team in the league, and have seen all this postseason success without second-leading scorer Jalen Williams. Oklahoma City is the rightful favorite to win the NBA Finals.

The Spurs are a bit different, as they have no playoff experience but have arguably the most unique and dominant defensive player in recent NBA history in Victor Wembanyama. They have surrounded him with young, talented guards and shooters, and remain the biggest challenger to the Thunder in the league.

The Knicks have finally found a groove with Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns through the playoffs so far, and look like the odds-on favorites to advance out of the season. OG Anunoby is dealing with an injury, but overall, New York is playing their best basketball of the season and has one of the strongest starting lineups in the NBA. It just remains to be seen if they can put together four strong playoff rounds in a row.

The Pistons have star Cade Cunningham, but lack a strong supporting cast, or at least one outside of Tobias Harris that has shown great promise in the playoffs so far. They had the best record in the East during the regular season, but have yet to prove themselves as ready to make that next leap.

The Cavaliers have perhaps the most talented backcourt in the league with Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, but neither has seen much playoff success in their career. Cleveland also has Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, but with high expectations, this group hasn’t necessarily lived up to the hype. They have a strong roster overall, but inconsistency and defensive struggles hold them back from being a top-tier Finals contender.

The Timberwolves have Anthony Edwards and a strong supporting cast of wings and bigs. They’ve made the last two conference finals, but aren’t looking like that same team this season. The Donte DiVincenzo injury is big for them, and with Edwards, Ayo Dosunmu, and others looking like they are dealing with lingering injuries, Minnesota has an uphill battle to even advance past the Spurs in the second round.

Theoretically, all the teams left in the NBA playoffs have the chance to win the title, but as things stand, especially with what the postseason has shown so far, the Thunder, Spurs, and Knicks all look like top contenders, which is reflected in the 2026 NBA Finals odds.

The odds will change, but for now, it looks to be a top-three competition for the title, with the other three teams a bit further back.
