The changes many are focusing on regarding the Seattle Seahawks center on the players who left via free agency: Kenneth Walker III, Coby Bryant, Riq Woolen, and Boye Mafe, among others.

Nonetheless, there are changes in Seattle’s coaching staff. When there’s success, other teams come after coaches, as was the case with former Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

The Las Vegas Raiders hired Kubiak as their new head coach, and to replace him, Seattle would hire Brian Fleury as their new offensive coordinator. The question now is whether Fleury can continue the success Kubiak had as the Seahawks look to win back-to-back Super Bowl titles.

During an appearance on “Up & Adams,” Walker, who signed this offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs, shared his thoughts on how the Seahawks will fare without Kubiak.

“I’m not too sure about the other OC or nothing, but I feel like they can make something happen,” Walker said in a May 5 video from the show. “Mike is a good coach, and he can adapt just like a lot of great coaches in the league in years past.

“So I feel like they’ll be able to adapt. They got great players still on that team and their roster, and they are motivated. They’re not satisfied with just one Super Bowl ring. They want more. So I feel like they’ll still be a great team.”

Last season under Kubiak, the Seahawks ranked in the Top 10 in passing yards (4,063) and rushing yards (2,096), per NFL.com. As a result, Fleury will have major shoes to fill, but he’ll have the players to do so.

Chatter Around Seahawks’ Repeat Chances Is Quiet

Speaking of not being happy with just one Super Bowl ring, Adams recently said there’s not much chatter about the Seahawks’ ability to win back-to-back Super Bowls. Usually, in the offseason, there’s talk about whether the current champions can repeat, but there’s been little to no talk of that, which surprises her.

“We are sleeping on [the Seahawks] a little bit, and I’m not paying lip service to this,” Adams said on the May 4 edition of “Up & Adams.” “It is May. I feel like we turned the page quicker than ever, and I do think that’s a little bit on the court.

“I think they’re not out there saying, ‘We won the Super Bowl. ‘ They’re not out there marketing this, but it’s May, and we have barely talked about how they could do a back-to-back.”

Why Seahawks Can Pull Off Back-to-Back Titles

Even though the Seahawks have lost players like Walker, there’s still plenty of talent returning and new players hungry to replace the outgoing talent. As a result, Adams believes that not having a significant roster turnover could see Seattle challenging for another Super Bowl despite being in a tough division.

“They’re returning 20 of 22 starters from what was a historically dominant Super Bowl team,“ Adams added. “Champions barely ever get to run it back to this degree, and if we’ve learned anything about that sicko Mike Macdonald, rest assured this is a top-to-bottom thing of turning the page, being humble, not taking your victory lap.

“The word complacency is absolutely absent from his vocabulary, as is showmanship and victory lap. I know that it’s very low-hanging fruit to say they could do it, they could go back-to-back and get it to happen.”
