The Indiana Fever are scheduled to face the Nigeria National Team on Saturday for their final preseason game. The Fever beat the New York Liberty in their first preseason game last week, but they lost to the Dallas Wings on Thursday.

Caitlin Clark and the rest of the Fever are looking to finish the preseason strong. They will have an additional week to prepare for the season opener against the Wings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

But before that, what is Clark’s status for the game against Nigeria?

Caitlin Clark’s Injury Status Revealed

According to the Fever’s official injury report, Clark is available to play against Nigeria despite what happened against Dallas.

The incoming third-year guard seemingly suffered a right ankle injury midway through the third quarter of Thursday’s contest. She landed on Alanna Smith’s foot, with the Wings forward getting called for a flagrant foul.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Clark clarified that it was her right knee that got banged up during the play. She landed hard on her kneecap, but she was doing fine overall.

“I feel good,” Clark said, via Chloe Peterson of The Indianapolis Star.

Coach Stephanie White explained later that Clark getting removed from the game was precautionary. The Fever taking her out anyway since it was just a preseason, but they erred on the side of caution due to Clark’s injury history.

FanSided’s Ian Levy listed Clark’s injuries from last year, which limited her to just 13 games. He suffered from a couple of left quad injuries early in the season. She then had to deal with two strained groin injuries before a sprained left ankle ruled her out for the remainder of the campaign.

Indiana Fever Rule Out 2 Players

The Fever are going to be without Lexie Hull and Justine Pissott due to injuries. Hull remains sidelined because of a hamstring injury. She has no timetable for recovery.

Pissott, the rookie forward, is dealing with a left leg injury after playing in their first preseason game last week.

The injuries to several players in the preseason have caused some frustration among the Fever fanbase on social media. But the good news is Aliyah Boston and Tyasha Harris are available to make their preseason debut against Nigeria.

Their opponents lost their first two preseason games against the Los Angeles Sparks and Minnesota Lynx. They barely made a mark against the Sparks but kept things close against the Lynx.

Some of Nigeria’s players include Ezinne Kalu, Gabby White and Uche Izoje. Kalu has WNBA experience with the Atlanta Dream, but she’s currently signed to the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association.

White is entering her second season with the Virginia Cavaliers, while Izoje is also a sophomore in college for the Syracuse Orange.
