On Saturday afternoon, the Baltimore Orioles are playing the second game of their series against the New York Yankees in the Bronx.

The Orioles lost Friday’s game by a score of 7-2.

Tyler Wells allowed three hits and one earned run in 1.1 innings.

Baltimore Orioles Announce Sudden Roster Move

Ahead of Saturday’s game, the Orioles announced that they had made several roster moves.

Wells has been optioned to Triple-A.

Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun wrote: “A surprise move this AM: Tyler Wells optioned to Triple-A. Orioles need arms, and Wells has options. Dietrich Enns reinstated from IL, and Nick Raquet recalled from Triple-A. Albert Suarez DFA’d again after he threw 2.2 innings last night.”

Wells is in his sixth MLB season (all with Baltimore).

He is currently 0-1 with a 3.44 ERA in 14 games this season.

The Orioles are currently 15-17 in 32 games, which has them as the third-place team in the American League East.

Following the Yankees, the Orioles will begin their next series on Tuesday when they visit the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park in Florida.
