As Rory McIlroy competes during Mother’s Day weekend at the Truist Championship, many golf fans are once again reflecting on the family support system that helped shape one of the sport’s biggest stars.

Long before major championships, Masters titles and worldwide fame, McIlroy’s parents, Rosie and Gerry McIlroy, played a massive role in helping fund and support his rise through junior golf in Northern Ireland.
