The New Orleans Saints drafted Auburn guard Jeremiah Wright with the 132nd pick of the NFL Draft in the fourth round. Guard has been a need of discussion with the lackluster player of Cesar Ruiz last season. Adding competition at that spot has not been a priority need, but it makes sense given what occurred with Ruiz’s play last year.

Wright was formally a defensive tackle who converted to offensive line later in his college career. That makes him quite a bit more unpolished than other offensive line prospects; however, he showed a lot of power in Auburn’s zone blocking scheme. With some development, Wright could be a capable offensive lineman in the NFL.

Draft Analysts Views Wright as a Day Three Prospect

Because of his raw profile and lack of experience overall as an offensive lineman, draft analysts viewed Wright as a day three prospect.

PFF ranked Wright as their 166th overall prospect in the NFL Draft. He received fairly average grades while as a starter last season. In 2025, his run blocking grade was 66.6 and 67.1 grade. They also acknowledge how well he did in zone schemes with a 69.7 grade. He was fairly average in gap coverage (63.3 grade) and true pass sets (58.8).

Dane Brugler graded him as a fifth or sixth round prospect. He respects Wright’s overall power and intangibles for the position, yet also says that he is a developmental prospect for a guard.

Brugler said, “Wright is still developing his recovery skills, but he is a heavy, physical presence who can anchor and end reps once he latches. His power and intangibles make him a worthy draft-and-develop guard in a gap scheme.”

While Jeremiah Wright did not test in the NFL Combine or his pro day, his overall size and weight are very positive signs for his overall athletic profile. He is just above 6’5” and weighs between 330 to 331 lbs. Both of those are great for an NFL guard. NFL Next Gen Stats gave him a 67 athleticism score, which is respectable.
